Conducting and Publishing Intensive Longitudinal Studies: Some Insights, Tips, and Tricks

    Scholars in various fields are increasingly using intensive longitudinal methods, such as experience sampling, to answer research questions involving intraindividual, dynamic, and fluctuating phenomena. In this workshop, I address a number of questions surrounding the implementation of intensive longitudinal methods in field studies, such as
    (1) What research questions can (or should) be addressed using intensive longitudinal methods?
    (2) What makes for a “good” intensive longitudinal study?
    (3) What problems may arise when conducting an intensive longitudinal study?
    (4) What to consider in analyzing data obtained with intensive longitudinal methods?
    (5) How to write up a paper based on an intensive longitudinal data collection?
    (6) What reviewer comments to expect and how to deal with them?
