Hydration and dehydration of CaO/Ca(OH)2 for thermal energy storage - energy release and cyclability
The hydration and dehydration of CaO/Ca(OH)2 was studied by TGA/DSC. To estimate the cycle stability, multiple measurements of one sample during consecutive dehydration/ hydration cycles were done. Further the power densities in dependence on water vapour partial pressure and temperature of CaO were measured. Good cycle stability was observed and hydration reactions of CaO show good properties at temperatures until 250°C.
