Organisationsprofil
Die Forschung und Lehre im Bereich Provenienzstudien widmet sich den Themenbereichen Provenienz, Restitution und kritische Museums- und Kunstmarktforschung. Neben der Auseinandersetzung mit der Geschichte, Gegenwart und Zukunft von Provenienzen und deren Produktion, interessieren uns vor allem die institutionellen Rahmen des Handelns mit und des Sammelns und Ausstellens von Kunst. Hierbei liegt ein spezielles Augenmerk auf der Rolle von Museen in der Aneignung, Archivierung, Zurschaustellung und Zirkulation von Objekten. Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, verwenden wir auch computergestütze Methoden und erproben sie auf ihre Nützlichkeit für die Provenienzforschung und Kunstgeschichte.
