Angela Lyn ist eine Schweizer Künstlerin anglo-chinesischer Herkunft, die in Lugano im Tessin lebt und arbeitet. Cécile Leimgruber und Jakob Schenk, beide Gynäkolog*innen, kauften 1996 ihr erstes Werk von der Künstlerin. Seitdem haben die beiden im Rahmen einer intensiven Beziehung zu Lyns Arbeit diese Sammlung aufgebaut, die zweiundvierzig Werke versammelt und den Werdegang der Künstlerin umfassend widerspiegelt.

Durch einen sorgfältig gestalteten fotografischen Essay, einen poetischen Text der Künstlerin und einen Überblick über die Sammlung durch den Kunsthistoriker Max Koss ist die Publikation where paintings live eine Reflexion über die Rolle der Kunst im täglichen Leben und ein Porträt einer dauerhaften Sammlung. Es ist ein Dokument der Zuneigung, der Liebe und des Vermächtnisses einer gut gelebten Beziehung.
