In a period characterized by unparalleled technological progress, the terrain of worldwide economies is experiencing a significant transformation through digital upheaval. As nations strive to harness the potential of digital transformation for sustainable development, there exists a critical need to explore and understand the multifaceted dynamics that shape this evolution. One aspect that is receiving increased attention is the intersection between female entrepreneurship and female empowerment as powerful enablers driving the progress of digital transformation. Historically, women have encountered barriers that impede their full participation in economic activities, including entrepreneurship. However, the tide is changing as a growing body of research highlights the pivotal role that women play in fostering innovation, economic growth, and social development. This paradigm shift toward recognizing and harnessing almost untapped potential of female entrepreneurs is integral to realizing the true essence of digital transformation. In this perspective, the process of twin transformation aims to enhance a company through digital transformation coupled with sustainable transformation. Twin transformation in the context of female entrepreneurship pertains to how women can contribute to integrating the aspects of digitization and sustainability in businesses. This chapter follows the stages of small business growth to highlight how twin transformation impacts female entrepreneurship. The authors apply and adapt this framework and conduct a qualitative case study assessing the success story of a platform business startup in care industry. This research extends perspectives on twin transformation, demonstrating the pivotal role of females in transformation processes.
