Description

"Partial Versions began with a singular question as intention and method: can we create breaches in a system of total education? Emerging from conversations which took place at Goldsmiths, University of London during the recent UCU strikes, this programme of screenings, performances and workshops featuring contributions from artists including Emanuel Almborg, Dean Kenning and John Chilvers, provided a partial answer for those seeking to pervert the dominance of the university, the idea of a ‘total’ education and the communities and subjects which form around it. Resisting logics of individuation and self-improvement, the programme, which also drew on texts from thinkers such as Stefano Harney & Fred Moten, Jean-Luc Nancy and John Kelsey, was an attempt to create spaces for thinking and study as a process that transpires between us. Could such strategies potentially constitute forms of resistance through radical pedagogy?

Partial Versions continues as an informal study group. Katerina Genidogan is Co-authoring the first publication of Partial Versions on issues of subjectivity formation through the development of fictional figures, using methods of diagramming and mapping (forthcoming)."
