Description

Sub project 7 “Synthesis”, co-led by Prof. Dr. Berta Martín-López, is part of the DFG research unit “The role of nature for human well-being in the Kilimanjaro Social-Ecological System” (Kili-SES). The coordinated and interdisciplinary framework and data collection in the Kili-SES research unit present an unprecedented opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of how the major components of a socio-ecological system (SES) operate and interact, and what the system’s social and ecological potential for transformation is. Achieving this understanding is the overall objective of SP7. It will develop systems, target, and transformation knowledge on the Kilimanjaro SES through the synthesis of sub projects 1 to 6 of the research units first and second project phases. Additionally, data management as a key condition for synthesis is placed in SP7.
