The Center for Empirical Educational Research in Lower Saxony (ZEB) is the first central hub for empirical educational research in Lower Saxony's higher education landscape. The center's main task is to apply scientific findings from empirical educational research to develop future-oriented school and education policies in Lower Saxony. Through the practical implementation of innovative concepts, the ZEB contributes to the continuous improvement of the education system's quality.
ZEB was founded jointly by Leuphana University Lüneburg and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University Hannover. The collaboration is to be extended to other universities and educational institutions in Lower Saxony.
Main research areas
The ZEB combines high-quality research in the areas of educational measurement, educational monitoring, and educational innovation and change. These are complemented by research activities in the areas of educational trajectories and educational equity. The research results are directly incorporated into the degree programs of the participating universities.
