Die Professur für Prozessmesstechnik/Intelligente Systeme beschäftigt sich mit Automatisierungstechnologien, Methoden und Systeme zur Erhöhung der Lebensqualität (Lebensmittel, Atemluft, Medizin) und der Sicherheit (Automobil, Feuerschutz), Messmethoden und Techniken, Sensoren (auch auf Basis von Nanofaser), Multisensorsysteme und entsprechende Mikrosysteme, davon intelligente Anwendungen in der Produktion (Innovative Bearbeitungsmethoden), Prozessüberwachung zur fehlerfreien Produktion ("zero defect manufacturing") sowie Röntgennachweissysteme zur Grundlagenforschung in QED.
