Professorship for Political System of the Federal Republic of Germany and the EU
Organisational unit: Professoship
Organisation profile
This research area focuses on the political institutions (polity) and processes (politics) of the Federal Republic of Germany in the context of both the EU and other European democracies. Special attention is paid to parties, parliaments and democracy. Is Germany on the way to polarized pluralism or is it rather characterized by technocratic structures? This overarching guiding question can ultimately only be answered over time and thus in a historically informed manner.
