Organisation profile

The focus of the professorship is in the areas of "continental" cultural philosophy and aesthetics, both with a clear contemporary orientation. More specifically, the research is located at the intersection of contemporary French philosophy, the legacy of classical German philosophy in contemporary thought, and Italian cultural theory and philosophy. In the field of French philosophy, the focus is on the traditions of Marxism and Nietzscheanism, as well as the epistemologies of human and cultural studies. In addition, the research of the professorship is concerned with phenomenological, hermeneutic and post-hermeneutic approaches and the thought of materialism, Spinozism, operaism, postoperaism and the Autonomia, which continues into the most current developments of Italian Theory
