N2 - Today's array of media platforms has led to the loss of context. This phenomenon is referred to as context collapse. Context collapse lends itself to disinformation and is often used by larger groups and formal organizations to sell a specific narrative. This paper outlines the importance of understanding context collapse through its main causes, lack of incentive, naivety and exploitation, declining attention span and mask switching.
