N2 - Urban planning frequently involves citizen participation and Participatory Design processes. A range of digital platforms and apps have been developed that facilitate both online and in-person interactions. This paper gives an overview of the PhD project "Potentials and Challenges of Hybrid Participatory Design Tools in European Urban Planning"which explores the synergies of these hybrid tools and applications in promoting Participatory Design. Focusing on mobility strategies, the study aims to contribute to the discussion on technology-mediated citizen participation and effective methods of participatory urban planning in Europe. By uncovering how Information and Communication Technologies and Participatory Design processes can be applied jointly, this research will provide valuable insights into how technology can be used for innovative and participatory urban development.
