Beschreibung

Mit der Digitalisierung der Arbeit sind tiefgreifende Veränderungen von Arbeitsverhältnissen und Mobilitätspraxen verbunden. Einerseits verändern sich fast alle existierenden Bereiche der Arbeit, und andererseits entstehen neue Typen originär digitaler Arbeit, die sich über das Internet global verteilen lassen. Ein zentrales Element dieser Transformation bilden digitale Plattformen vom Onlineversandhandel über Taxi- oder Essenslieferdienste bis hin zu sogenannten Crowdwork-Plattformen für digitale Arbeit. Gleichwohl die plattformgesteuerte Digitalisierung von Arbeits- und Lebensverhältnissen bereits sozialwissenschaftlich untersucht wird, fehlen grundlegende ethnographische Studien, insbesondere über die Mobilitätspraxen und Migrationsprojekte, die diese Veränderung der Arbeitswelt hervorbringt.
