Internationale Sommerschule über Messtechnik von der PTB

Metrology – the science of correct measurement – is an important cornerstone of our industrialized society. It has an impact on essentially every aspect of our lives, but is seldom visible to outside eyes. Its continued reliability is typically taken as granted. Metrological progress is a key enabler for technical development and, thus, for innovation. Given the prevailing economic and social challenges we are faced with, the role and the further development of metrology is therefore of extraordinary importance for progress in technology and science.

The school has been designed to give insights into contemporary metrological issues as well as imparting metrological core concepts. The school will consist of keynote presentations in particular related to the redefinition of units and their practical application by expert speakers, a practical course on the estimation on measurement uncertainties, poster presentations, and social events.
